How Old Is Too Old To Be Depressed?

If you’re 40+ and struggling with depression, you’re far from alone

When I dream, it’s never about my apartment, which is where I spend most of my time. I dream about distant places. I’m always traveling. K is with me, whether as a partner experiencing adventures by my side, or just as a general presence in my head.

I’m always either talking directly to her, or to some psychic manifestation that my mind projects onto the idea of her.

Either way, when I turn to say something like, “look at that beautiful statue glowing there, in that waterfall,” I say it to her.

When I wake up, I’m in my apartment, I’m alone, far from my dreams.

No statues glowing.

No waterfalls.

Life is better in dreams.

Last year was one of the hardest years I’ve had yet.

I lost some important people.

My career hit a bump or two.

When I wake up, I’m in my apartment, I’m alone, far from my dreams.

Prior to 2022, I woke up every morning, stretched, worked out, ran, biked, or swam.
